AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls head into the Christmas Break playing some of their best hockey of the season. The Bulls swept one the South Division’s top Teams the Lone Star Brahmas 2-1 in overtime and 3-2. The Bulls currently have a mark of 11-15-3 and sit alone in 6th place in the South Division just four points away from fifth place Wenatchee Wild with three games in hand.
It won’t be until New Years’ Eve until the Bulls hit the ice again when they host the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm.

BULLS PARTICIPATE IN HOCKEY DAY IN TEXAS: The Amarillo Bulls will be participating in the upcoming Hockey Day Texas set for this coming Sunday at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. The Bulls will face the Celebrity team comprised of former Amarillo professional hockey players and local personalities. The game faces off at 7:30 pm and tickets for that game and the entire day are just $5 in support of Amarillo Youth Hockey.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: It was a busy week prior to Christmas Break for the Amarillo Bulls as they were out in the community in full force. Bulls’ players spread Christmas cheer with candy canes and signed souvenir programs at both BSA Children’s Hospital and Northwest Children’s Hospital. During the week, players were also guests on FM90 the Amarillo College radio station and sang Christmas Carols to some Season Ticket holders.
NEW YEARS’ EVE HOCKEY RETURNS: The next time the Amarillo Bulls hit the ice in a North American Hockey League game will be on Wednesday, Dec. 31st at 7 pm for what has become a tradition in Amarillo Hockey. The Bulls will host their closest rival the Wichita Falls Wildcats at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. There will be party favors courtesy of Budweiser and this is a great opportunity for fans to catch a little hockey before heading out on their own New Years’ Eve celebration plans.

AMARILLO BULLS 2 – LONE STAR BRAHMAS 1, OT: Jesper Synnelius notched his first North American Hockey League goal at an opportune time. His first goal came with 27 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Bulls past the Lone Star Brahmas 2-1. Will Harrison tied the game for the Amarillo Bulls in the final 90 seconds of regulation after Lone Star had built a lead back in the first period. Kasper Emanuelsson had two assists, while Joseph Leonidas and Cody Gylling had single helpers. Jacob Weatherly stopped 28 of 29 he faced to post the win in goal.
AMARILLO BULLS 3 – LONE STAR BRAHMAS 2: Cody Gylling netted the game winning goal in the final eight minutes of regulation to snap a 2-2 tie and power the Bulls past the Lone Star Brahmas 3-2. Joseph Leonidas and Trent Dillinger tallied for Amarillo and Anton Martinsson took the win in goal. Kasper Emnauelsson, Ben Jentsch, Jesper Synellius Riley Christensen, Luke Novak and Charlie Combs picked up single assists.
