Weekly Release-Bulls Split With Odessa

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls split a weekend series with the Odessa Jackalopes losing in the first 6-4 but taking the second 4-2, and as a result have a one point lead for the sixth and final playoff spot in the South Division over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. The Bulls and the Killer Bees open a stretch of four games against one another, beginning Friday at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.


RADIO SHOW RETURNS TONIGHT: After a week off due to a matinee game, the Amarillo Bulls Radio Show returns tonight to Seven Bar and Grill located on Soncy Road in Amarillo from 6 to 7 pm. Host Denis J. Puska visits with Head coach Jon Rogger about the crucial four game set against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Tonight’s guests are defensemen Mike Damien and Kyle Hartman. FRIDAY, JAN. 30 & SATURDAY, JAN. 31 – RIO GRANDE VALLEY KILLER BEES @ AMARILLO BULLS, 7 PM: The Amarillo Bulls host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees this Friday and Saturday at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Friday is sponsored by Marble Depot and it’s the return of the $1 hotdogs. Someone could win a Weber Grill for Superbowl Sunday. The Chuck-A- Puck Prize is $1,000. It’s Crime Stoppers Back The Badge Night on Saturday in support of Pampa Police Officer Sgt. Gass. All fans are encouraged to wear blue and there will also be a Silent Auction.

ODESSA JACKALOPES 6 – AMARILLO BULLS 4:  Brady Crabtree, Ben Jentsch, Cody Gylling and Luke Novak scored for Amarillo in the loss on Friday night. The Bulls led 2-1 after 20 minutes of hockey but the downfall was the middle stanza where Odessa scored three times. A third period rally came up short. Anton Martinsson took the loss in goal, playing the first 40 minutes before being replaced by Jacob Weatherly.

AMARILLO BULLS 4 – ODESSA JACKALOPES 2: Four goals in the first 40 minutes proved to be enough for the Amarillo Bulls. Elijiah Barriga, Riley Christensen, Ben Jentsch and Will Harrison netted goals for the Bulls. Jacob Weatherly stopped 19 of 21 shots he faced. Amarillo led 1-0 after 20 minutes, and then scored three times once Odessa tied the game.
