Weekly Release – Bulls Split Games With Bees

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls split a pair of games with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees over the weekend falling 4-1 on Friday and then winning 2-1 on Saturday. The Bulls remain two points back of the sixth and final playoff spot in the South Division and return home this weekend to face the Odessa Jackalopes on Friday and Saturday at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.


MONDAY NIGHT RADIO SHOW: The Amarillo Bulls Radio Show hits the airwaves tonight (Monday) from Seven Bar and Grill located on Soncy Road in Amarillo. Join host Denis J. Puska along with Bulls Head Coach Jon Rogger. Tonight’s guests are defenseman Ben Jentsch and former National Hockey League player Bobby Holik who is in town teaching Bulls’ players.


FRIDAY, JAN. 16 AND SATURDAY, JAN. 17 VS. ODESSA JACKALOPES, 7 PM. – Friday is the People’s Federal Credit Union Bobble Head Night for the first 500 fans through the doors. Saturday is Western Night Presented by American Classifieds. The first 500 fans through the doors receive a mini-cowbell. Come out for a meet and great as well as pictures with the characters of Toy Story. Seven Bar and Grill will be giving away another bike to one lucky child.

RIO GRANDE VALLEY KILLER BEES 4 – AMARILLO BULLS 1: The Bulls fell behind to Rio Grande Valley 3-0 before Cody Gylling replied on the power play from Kasper Emanuelsson and Will Harrison. The Bulls pulled their goaltender in the final minute but failed to get any closer.

AMARILLO BULLS 2 – RIO GRANDE VALLEY KILLER BEES 1: All of the scoring was done in the first period as Charlie Combs scored 16 seconds into the game and then Riley Christensen fired home the game winner later in the stanza. Addison Runey collected an assist on the Christensen marker. Goaltender Anton Martinsson stopped 28 of 29 shots he faced.
