Weekly-Bulls In Playoff Fight


AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls find themselves right in the middle of a playoff fight after splitting a pair of games with the Corpus Christi IceRays over the weekend. The two teams will play twice more this coming Friday and Saturday at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. These are the last two games before the Christmas Break. The Bulls trail the IceRays by four points for fifth place in the South Division and by six points for the fourth and final playoff spot.

RADIO SHOW TONIGHT – The Amarillo Bulls Radio Show hits the airwaves at 6 pm at Seven Bar and Grill located on Soncy Road in Amarillo. Join host Denis J. Puska for the very latest on your team plus Alumni news and much more. Tonight Vice-President General Manager Rick Matchett joins us to talk about the upcoming games and much more. Head Coach Matt Nicholson reviews the weekend and looks ahead to the big games at home. Tonight's player guest is Matt Meininger who plays on Defense. BULLS IN THE COMMUNITY: The Amarillo Bulls will be spreading Christmas Cheer by visiting patients at Northwest Texas Hospital and then make a stop at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital to bring some Holiday cheer to the communities littlest patients. 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PARTY: It’s the Fans Christmas Party… Still time to get your tickets by calling 242-1122 or visiting 301 South Polk. Tickets are $12 for Season Ticket Holders, $15 for Non-Season Ticket Holders. Prizes and Draws all night. The fun starts at 6:30 pm.

CORPUS CHRISTI ICERAYS @ AMARILLO BULLS, FRIDAY & SATURDAY 7 PM – BUDWEISER BULL PEN IN THE AMARILLO CIVIC CENTER: The Amarillo Bulls at home hosting the Corpus Christi IceRays for two. And should the Bulls win both they would climb to within two points of a playoff spot.  Friday come get your pictures taken with Santa. Saturday is the Toys For Tots Teddy Bear Toss Presented By Tyson. Bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the game and when the Bulls score their first goal – throw the toys onto the ice. Fans can also get their pictures taken with The Grinch.

The Bulls Office is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm and on Saturday (game days) from 10 am to 4 pm. Fans can also purchase tickets at the Civic Center Box Office and all United Supermarket locations.


CORPUS CHRISTI ICERAYS 2 – AMARILLO BULLS 1: The Amarillo Bulls held a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes of play only to see it get erased by two power play goals. Tyler Hall had the lone marker that was his first in the North American Hockey League. Anton Martinsson took the loss in goal.

AMARILLO BULLS 2 – CORPUS CHRISTI ICERAYS 1: Two first period goals were more than plenty and Anton Martinsson did the rest as the Bulls rolled to a road win. George Mika and Michael Forman tallied even strength. Martinsson stopped 33 of 34 shots he faced. The Bulls string of scoring a power play goal in consecutive games came to an end at six.
