Weekend Preview-Bulls Visit IceRays For Three Straight

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — After spending the past nine games at home, the Amarillo Bulls return to the road for the next five including three in Corpus Christi versus the IceRays at American Bank Center starting tomorrow night.

The Bulls were 7-2 in the home stand and remain in firm control of first place in the South Division standings with a 16 point advantage. However, Amarillo has struggled recently just 2-2 in their last four games, including consecutive Friday night setbacks. The IceRays come into play 4-6 in their last 10 games and have dropped to fourth place in the standings, one point back of second place Shreveport and Lone Star, and just ahead of fifth place Topeka Pilots. 

It’s the seventh meeting of the season between the two teams with the Bulls collecting 11 out a possible 12 points. Logan Jenuwine leads the Bulls in scoring, as well as the North American Hockey League in goals with 34. Jenuwine is just two points out of the scoring lead, and has 15 goals in his last 10 road games. Defenseman Nick Anderson has also excelled on the road with with assists in his last seven games away from the Texas Panhandle. 

The IceRays continue to tweak their roster recently adding defenseman Keenan Johnson from Topeka but also lost starting goaltender Sam Best to an NCAA College Commitment to AIC. Corpus Christi managed just three goals total in a pair of losses in North Richland Hills versus the Lone Star Brahmas.

Hockey is back at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Feb 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9 when the Amarillo Bulls host the Lone Star Brahmas at 7 pm.
