BULLS NEXT AT HOME: The Amarillo Bulls return home next Thursday, Friday and Saturday for a trio of games at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center facing the Odessa Jackalopes. It’s the next three games of the New Avenues I-27 Freeway Championship Series. Game times for all three is set for 7 pm. Friday is the Family Four Pack for $44 (Four Tickets, Four Hot Dogs and four Sodas), and Bring A Bud Pack for $22 (Two Tickets, Two Hotdogs and Two Sodas). Saturday is Star Wars Night Presented By Comic Con. It’s also a special night to support 24 Hours In The Canyon Cancer Survivorship Center. The Bulls will wear special 24 Hours In The Canyon Jerseys with a live auction to take place immediately after the game.

THE SERIES: It’s the fifth and sixth meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Corpus Christi IceRays but the first time that Rocky Russo’s charges will venture to South Texas this season. The Bulls have collected five out of a possible eight points with back-to-back shutout wins and an overtime loss. The two teams will meet a total of 12 times, including eight from now until the end of the regular season.
ACROSS THE SOUTH THIS WEEKEND: After a weekend off, the Shreveport Mudbugs return to action hosting the Topeka RoadRunners at George’s Pond-Hirsch Coliseum on Friday and Saturday. Elsewhere, the Lone Star Brahmas begin their two week trip to Alaska with two versus the Fairbanks IceDogs. The Odessa Jackalopes have the weekend off.
NEW LOOK BULLS: The Amarillo Bulls will feature four new faces in their line-up following transactions that were made last weekend. Forwards Austin O’Rourke, Jared Domin, Trey Bagwell as well as defenseman Noah Bormann are all expected to make their debut joining Nick Anderson, and Trevor Micucci who joined the team just after Christmas.
STREAKS AND TRENDS: It’s been a rough stretch for the Amarillo Bulls with just one win and four points (overtime and shootout loses) in their last nine games. In seven of the nine games the Bulls had leads or were tied heading into the third period. The Corpus Christi IceRays are 6-3-0-3 in their last 12 games including three shootout losses. Eleven of the 12 games the IceRays have been involved in have been decided by one goal.
WHAT’S AT STAKE: The South Division continues to be very tight with all teams still alive in the playoff fight. The Bulls trail the fourth place Corpus Christi IceRays by eight points for the fourth and final playoff spot. Amarillo has several games in hand on each of the five teams.
