BROADCAST OPTIONS: Friday’s game is aired live on Amarillo’s Rock Station Rock 108 (107.9 FM) due to high school football, while Saturday’s contest returns to flagship station CBS Sportsradio 1440. Pre-game coverage begins with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm followed by the puck drop at 7 pm. THE SERIES: This is the first of eight meetings this season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Lone Star Brahmas. The Battle of the Cattle Series was won and dominated by the Bulls last year taking eight of the 12 games. In three contests the Bulls averaged more than six goals per game and in three others Amarillo posted shutouts.
BULLS NOTES: The Amarillo Bulls have managed just six goals in their last four games. Five of their eight games have been decided by one goal. Eleven of the Bulls 22 goals have been scored by Brady Crabtree, Charlie Combs and Cody Gylling. Goaltender Jacob Weatherly has made 210 saves and among the leaders in minutes played.
LONE STAR STARTS: The Lone Star Brahmas have eight players back from last year’s program including goaltender TJ Black. Four of the Brahmas victories have come when they have scored the first goal and lead after 20 minutes of play. Lone Star has netted 11 first period goals and a combined total of 12 in the final 40 minutes. Forward Sebastien Vidmar leads the Brahmas with eight goals and was selected as the South Division Player Of The Week. Vidmar and Roman Uchyn have scored 12 of the team’s 26 goals.
