VÄISÄNEN GOAL SCORING TO DRIVE BULLS OFFENSE
The Amarillo Bulls were in search of a goal scoring threat to lead the team into the 2020-2021 season, and they have tendered forward Jere Väisänen in hopes of ending their search. Väisänen, an Espoo, Finland native, is a product of Finish hockey ranks before finding his most recent home and success in nearby Norway.
“It will be great to be back playing in Texas,” said Väisänen. “I’m honored to be a part of the Amarillo Bulls organization and excited for next season. Go Bulls!”
The 6’0”, left-hander displayed balanced, offensive abilities with the Nordic Hockey Academy, finding the back of the 34 times and assisting on 28 tallies over 38 games this past season. “Jere will join his former teammate and line mate Paul Schmid next season,” said Assistant Coach George Lewis. “We expect Jere to come in and contribute right away next season. His skillset and his ability to shoot the puck and score goals will make him an immediate offensive threat for our group. We are excited to get him to Amarillo.”
