AMARILLO, TX – As the Amarillo Bulls continue with their training camp and two-a-day practices at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center, they know their hard work will soon start to pay off.
In just one week the Bulls will face off their 2014-15 season at one of the signature events.
That first game and the next three will take place at the North American Hockey League Showcase in Blaine Minnesota located just north of the twin cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The tournament takes place at the Schwann Super Rink, an eight rink facility where fans can literally watch four games at once.
This Showcase event has become an annual tradition with the league that allows for match-ups that wouldn’t normally occur due to travel and team locations as well as a chance for players to be seen by hundreds of NCAA scouts that will be in attendance.
The opening game for the Bulls is against a familiar foe the Wenatchee Wild, who they haven’t seen since the 2013 Robertson Cup National championship game. The face off is set for next Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 am.
The rest of the Showcase schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Bulls as they face the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 4:30 pm, followed by the other Alaska-based team Kenai River Brown Bears on Friday, Sept. 19 at 8:15 pm. The Bulls conclude their showcase schedule with a first ever match-up against the Springfield Jr. Blues at 12:45 pm.
Once again all four games will air live on the official home of the Amarillo Bulls, CBS Sports Radio 1440 and online at www.amarillobulls.com as well as on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey. Each broadcast with the exception of the first one begins with the Wayland Baptist University Warm-Up Show 20 minutes before the puck is dropped. Denis J. Puska returns for his ninth year calling hockey in the Texas Panhandle.
After the Bulls return home from the State of hockey, they will prepare for their fifth home opener on Friday, Sept. 26 at 7 pm against their furthest opponent the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. It’s the first of two games against the Killer Bees that weekend.
There is still time for fans to purchase Full or Half Season Tickets as well as 10 Game Flex Packs. For further information on seat locations and prices that fit all budgets, call the Bulls Office at 806-242-1122.
