TROY, MICHIGAN – It was a tough night for Team Texas at the Day 2 of the North American hockey League Top Prospects in Troy, Michigan on Tuesday night.
Team Texas dropped a 4-2 decision to Great Lakes and saw their record fall to 1-1. The two clubs were tied 2-2 entering the third period before two goals in the final six minutes pulled Great Lakes ahead. Amarillo Bulls’ forwards Gage Christianson and Omar Mullan collected assists in the game, while goaltender Paul Berrafato did not play.
Meantime, Blake Roubos had a big game for Frontier, notching a goal and adding two assists in a 9-3 blowout win over Midwest. Roubos scored in the second period and then notched the assists in the final 20 minutes.
Earlier in the day, Brady Ferguson scored for NAHL 18 Selects in a 3-2 win over Dakota. Ferguson’s goal came in the second period and gave the Selects a 2-1 lead at the time.
All six teams are 1-1 entering the final day of the Top Prospects tournament tomorrow (Wednesday). The NAHL Selects face Frontier at 9:30 am central, followed by Dakota versus Team Texas. In the final game of the day, Great Lakes faces Midwest.
