SCHMID’S INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE TO PLAY KEY ROLE IN BULLS FUTURE

The Amarillo Bulls looked oversees and found a veteran and internationally seasoned forward, as the team tendered Austrian forward Paul Schmid. Schmid, a Linz, Austria native, is a product of the Nordic Hockey Academy, where he made his presence known with 19 goals and 27 assists during a 33-game stretch.

“I am super excited to be an Amarillo Bull and incredibly honored to be a part of one of the top organizations in the NAHL,” said Schmid. “Can’t wait to get the new season started. Go Bulls!”

The 6’0”, left-hander has proven himself a leader after being named Alternate Captain of Team Austria at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship Division I tournament, where he recorded an assist in the team’s gold medal run. “Paul had a tremendous season in Norway and we are excited to have him make the move to the states,” said Assistant Coach George Lewis. “We feel Paul will bring a complete 200-foot game to our group and play in all situations. We expect he will find his way into being a leader in our room and we think his experience playing internationally is invaluable.”
