AMARILLO, TX – For the third consecutive week, a member of the Amarillo Bulls has been chosen as the North American Hockey League’s player of the week.
Goaltender Paul Berrafato was selected as the South Division Player Of Week following up his teammates forwards TJ Sarcona and Michael Davis who won in the week’s prior.
Amarillo goaltender Paul Berrafato, 19, is the #1-ranked goaltender in the NAHL thanks in large part to performances like he turned in this past weekend as the Bulls produced a home sweep of the Texas Tornado.
Berrafato (6’0/180) is tops in the NAHL with a 1.14 goals against average and is second in save percentage (94.1%). This weekend, he helped his cause by stopping a combined 46 of 48 shots. On Friday, he made 16 saves in a 7-2 win.
On Saturday, he posted his first NAHL shutout with a 30-save performance in a 4-0 win. The native of Buffalo, New York has yet to lose a game in regulation this season.
“Paul had a very solid weekend. He battles hard and doesn’t give up easy goals,” said Bulls head coach Dennis Williams. “When you have him back there making the saves he does, the guys around him play better as a result they can play loose and free-wheel it a little bit more.”
The Amarillo Bulls close out their four game home stand this Friday and Saturday against the Topeka RoadRunners. The face off for both at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center is 7 pm. Friday’s game is sponsored by McDonalds. Saturday is United Way Night and the Bulls will wear their specialty jerseys with a live auction to follow immediately after the game. If the Bulls get 4,000 fans at the game on Saturday, then United Way will receive a check for $4,000.
Tickets are available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk in the Amarillo Building, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets. For further information on Group Rates, Seven Game Flex Packs or Birthday Party Packages, please call the Bulls Office at 806-242-1122.
