The Amarillo Bulls offensive explosion was noticed by the North American Hockey League as forward Jason Brancheau was chosen as the South Division Player Of The Week.
Ferris State commit Jason Brancheau, 19, was on fire this past weekend as the South Division-leading Bulls continued their hot play with a weekend home sweep of the Topeka Pilots. The 5’9/177 lbs. native of River Rouge, Michigan, had five points (2 goals, 3 assists) and was a +3 in the two wins.
On Sunday, Brancheau had a pair of assists in a 6-4 win, and then on Monday night he had two goals and an assist in a 10-2 win. Brancheau, who has seven points in his last four games, is currently 3rd in team scoring this season with 30 points in 29 games played.
“Jason is such an important part of our team. He plays in all situations, and multiple positions. His skill set, skating and compete level are elite. This weekend was a great example of what he is capable of. Coach Daniels and his staff at Ferris State will be very pleased with what Jason brings to their team as he moves on to college Hockey in the fall,” said Bulls head coach Rocky Russo.
The nine game homestand continues this weekend for the Amarillo Bulls with a triple header of hockey at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center against the second place Corpus Christi IceRays. Friday is Fort Night Night presented by Hamilton and Grant. Fans can try the game on the concourse and participate in dances during the intermissions. Saturday is Pucks and Prayers with discounted tickets for Church Groups. Both games face-off at 7:05 pm. Sunday is the second 4:05 pm face-off and it’s Buy One Get One Free Ticket special.
