AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls look to jump back into the win column tonight (Tuesday) when they visit the Wichita Falls Wildcats at Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls.
It’s the fourth straight meeting between the two sides and a victory would give the Bulls a split of the four games before they head South for a key weekend series in Rio Grande Valley.
The first three games have been very similar with the Bulls dominating the first and third periods, but the Wildcats taking control and scoring goals in bunch to quash that success. Goaltending has been an issue for both teams, with the coaching staffs having had to use each of their goaltending tandems in the last two games.
The Bulls will use an important game in hand on the team they are chasing for the sixth and final playoff spot, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. The two teams are separated by just two points. Over the past two weeks the two teams have either been tied or the Bulls have been in sole possession of sixth.
Offense has not been a problem in the last five games for the Bulls notching 20 goals with each of the players on the current roster accounting for at least one point. Forward Will Harrison leads the way with five goals and seven points, while Cody Gylling has three goals and three assists for six points.
Tonight’s game can be heard live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and seen on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey beginning 20 minutes before the puck is dropped with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show. Amarillo Bulls Hockey Presented by Westgate Mall follows at 7 pm.
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Jan. 16 and Saturday, Jan. 17 when the Bulls host the Odfessa Jackalopes at 7 pm.
