TOPEKA, KS – The Amarillo Bulls look to make it back-to-back wins on this seven-game road trip when they visit the Topeka RoadRunners tonight (Friday) at 7 pm at the Kansas Expo Center-Landon Arena.
The Bulls began the road swing in fine fashion by beating the first place Texas Tornado 4-1. Nikifor Szczerba turned aside 43 of 44 shots he faced in his return to the line-up. That victory was the team’s 14th of the season and gave them the highest winning percentage of any club in the NAHL.
The RoadRunners have not been an easy team to play against as they have won five in a row, including back to back wins over the Tornado last weekend.
Amarillo has won the only two meetings between the two teams this season and it’s the first trip to Topeka since the pre-season schedule.
The penalty killing for the Bulls has quickly climbed up the ladder to sit 12th overall and third on the road. On home ice, Topeka has the second best penalty killing, but their power has struggled at 18th.
Fans can tune into the action tonight on ESPN1440 and www.amarilllbulls.com fueled by Sportsjuice, beginning with The Bulls Warm Up Show Presented by Wayland Baptist University at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the play-by-play action at 7 pm. The game is also available on Pay-Per-View courtesy of Fast Hockey.
Hockey is back at the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 17 when the Bulls host the Texas Tornado on at 7 pm. There are a variety of activities planned that night including the Teddy Bear toss where fans are encouraged to bring a Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the game. When the Bulls score their first goal, throw the toys onto the ice. The toys will be collected and given to charity.
The Bulls will also be wearing their Christmas Jerseys and a live auction follows the game in The Corral with proceeds to benefit Amarillo Youth Hockey.
