THE SERIES: The Amarillo Bulls and the Odessa Jackalopes have never met in exhibition play before. The two teams will play one another for the first time in the regular season in November.

EXHIBITION HISTORY: In four seasons, the Amarillo Bulls have played just two teams in home-and- home series. In the first two years, the Bulls face the Topeka RoadRunners, while the past two seasons it’s been the Wichita Falls Wildcats.

REGULAR SEASON START-UP: The Jacklopes regular season begins next weekend in Wichita Falls, while the Bulls won’t start until the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota.

EXHIBITION GAME IMPORTANCE: Bulls Head Coach Jon Rogger said there are a few things the coaching staff is looking for from the game.

“We want to see where the guys are at in terms of their development and learning the systems,” he said. “We have a lot of first year junior hockey players so its going to be an eye opening game for some of them. Many have come from high school and Triple A hockey and won’t be use to the speed and the bigger physicality of the game.”

Rogger said the first game is also an opportunity for him to get acquainted with the league and the South Division style of play.

“I am very new to this league so I want to see what Odessa has and where we stand in relation to that,” he said.
