Bulls trail Series 2-0 after overtime loss on Saturday night

 AMARILLO, TX — For the second straight playoff series the Amarillo Bulls find themselves in a tough spot.

The visiting Corpus Christi IceRays scored 77 seconds into overtime and beat the Amarillo Bulls 6-5 on Saturday night at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center to take a 2-0 lead in the Best-of-Five South Division Semi-Final Series. The scene shifts to Corpus Christi for Game 3 on Thursday night at American Bank Center.

The last time the Bulls were in the post season they trailed the Topeka RoadRunners 2-0 and came back with two victories away from home to force a fifth and deciding game in the 2014 South Division Final.

The Bulls got off the mat several times rally from one goal deficits and a two goal deficit in the final four minutes of regulation. Logan Jenuwine and Jason Brancheau scored back-to- back goals to force sudden death overtime after the IceRays had build a 5-3 lead with three consecutive goals. 

Other marksmen for Amarillo were Brenden Datema, David Ojamae and Brett Abdelnour. Nick Anderson chipped in two assists, while Justin Evenson took the loss in goal.

The Bulls outshot the IceRays 53-32, including 36 shots over the final 40 minutes directed at goaltender Brian George. 

Fans can tune into the action of Game 3 of the Best Of Five South Division Semi-Final Series beginning with Prelude To The Playoffs Presented by Fit Omni at 6:30 pm. Denis J. Puska has the play by play of the game at 7 pm on 107.1 Nash Icon, www.amarillobulls.com/listen and on PPV with Hockey TV. If a fourth game is necessary it will be played on Friday, also at 7 pm. Should a fifth and deciding game be needed it would be played on Monday, Apr. 22 at 7 pm.
