AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls, proud members of the North American Hockey League announced today (Tuesday) that they have traded forward Conor O’Neil to the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
In eight games with the Bulls, O’Neil notched four assists and had a plus minus of plus four. He also had 17 shots on goal. The Hummelstown, PA native had two assists and four shots on goal in a game against the Wildcats two weeks ago.
Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams said the move was made to help get the team down in numbers.
“Conor is a great kid and hockey player who will do very well in Wichita Falls,” said Williams on Monday night during the Amarillo Bulls Radio Show. “It wasn’t a move that we wanted to do, but we felt it was right for him. We sent him to one of the best coaches, and coaching staffs in the North American Hockey League.”
Williams said trades within the division are always tough because you never know how they will end up.
“We could face them in the playoffs, and he may score those big goals,” he added. “I really appreciate the work that Conor did for us during the first fifth of the season. This will allow him to play on the power play and a bigger role on that team.”
