AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls had a terrific weekend both on the ice and raising money for the community.

The Bulls won both games, beating the Wichita Falls Wildcats 4-1 and then their rival the Topeka RoadRunners 7-1 and continue to lead the South Division. Amarillo currently has the best winning percentage in the North American Hockey League, and tied for the best overall record.

On Saturday night, the Bulls held a United Way Night and hit their target of $20,000, including over $14,000 raised in a jersey auction following the game. The jerseys were well liked by the fans as several went for over $1,000.

“It’s a great feeling when you can help facilitate a very successful fundraising event,” said Bulls General Manager Chris Laurie. “We are pleased to be a part of this year’s campaign as we know how important it is to our community. Hats off to our fans and corporate partners who stepped up big time to support this very worthy cause!”

The Bulls will make a check presentation to the United Way on the ice at an upcoming game. Details will be announced in the near future.

Fans will want to make it out to see the Amarillo Bulls in the conclusion of a four-game home stand before the team departs on the road for eight of their next nine.

On Friday and Saturday, the Bulls will entertain the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Friday’s game is sponsored by Atmos Energy and fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used coat in support of the Evelyn Rivers Coat Drive. Avondale Pharmacy is sponsoring Saturday night, and the Bulls will be wearing their new 3rd jerseys.
