Bulls Net Six Goals, Snap Losing Skid

The Bulls snap their three game losing streak with a 6-to-0 victory over the New Mexico Ice Wolves on Saturday night.

Jere Vaisanen would break the ice at the 9:08 mark of the opening period after the Ice Wolves turned over the puck in their own zone, giving Vaisanen the puck where he would bury his ninth goal of the season.

Ryan Coughlin would convert on a 2-on-1 chance when he beat New Mexico goalie Owen Parker glove side for his seventh goal and give the Bulls two goal lead going into the intermission.

The Bulls would double their lead in the second period with goals from Harrison Scott and Paul Schmid. Scott’s goal would be his team leading 13th goal of the season. Amarillo would hold the Ice Wolves to only 13 shots in the first two periods.

The Ice Wolves would pick up the pressure at the start of the third period but Andrew Takacs would stop all 17 shots he faced. The Bulls would get goals from Nick Siffinger and Nick Martino to give Amarillo a 6-to-0 victory.

Takacs earned his first shutout win of the season and his eighth overall win on the year. The Bulls win their 17th game of the season and have 39 points on the season. Amarillo is only four points behind the second place Lone Star Brahmas. The Bulls take on the Ice Wolves again Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
