CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Amarillo Bulls have forced a fifth and deciding game in their Best-Of-Five South Division Semi-Final Series with the Corpus Christi IceRays after a 5-2 win on Friday night at American Bank Center.
Game Five takes place on Monday at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Tickets are $5 for any seat in the Civic Center and are available at www.amarillobulls.com/tickets and through the Civic Center Box Office, United Supermarket Locations and www.panhandletickets.com. The Bulls office will be open 9 am to 4 pm for ticketing needs.
Matt Allen provided the offensive punch for the Bulls with a pair of goals. The first coming in the second period to give the visitors a 4-0 advantage, and then he put in an empty netter to stop any IceRays comeback after the homeside had pulled to within two goals. Jason Brancheau, Gabriel Seger and Alex Peterson had the other goals for the Bulls, while Jason Grande earned the win in goal. Seger also set up two goals.
The Bulls scored two-goals, 12-seconds apart in the first period to take a 2-0 lead and had 18 shots on goal. That was the tonic Amarillo needed as part of a dominating performance from start to finish.
The fourth game was the largest margin of victory by either team in the series as the IceRays won the first two games by the same 6-5 score and the Bulls took game 3 by a 4-3 margin in overtime.
