TOPEKA, KS – There is much to play for today (Thursday) for the Amarillo Bulls at the Robertson Cup North American Hockey League National Championship Tournament in Topeka, Kansas.
The Bulls, 2-0, face another unbeaten team the Fairbanks Ice Dogs at 4:05 pm at Kansas Expo Center-Landon Arena. A win by Amarillo and it’s off to the National Final, but a loss and the Bulls will have to play in the National Semi-Final on Friday night.
This is the first ever meeting between the Bulls and the Ice Dogs, but the second time that Amarillo has faced a West Division opponent. Together the Bulls, winners of the South Division, and Fairbanks, West Division champs, have combined for 16 post season wins and just four losses. Each team has averaged about four goals per game for and yielded just under three against.
The second game of the tournament tonight features the Michigan Warriors and the Topeka RoadRunners. The winner advances to the National Semi-Final on Friday, while the loser’s season will come to an end. That face-off is at 7:35 pm.
