Bulls drop third straight with 4-1 loss to Shreveport

Amarillo, Tx(Apr 27, 2021)-The Bulls dropped their third straight against the Mudbugs following a 4-to-1 loss Tuesday afternoon. 

Amarillo would dominate the first ten minutes of play with ten shots on net but could not get past Mudbugs goalie Cole Hudson. Shreveport would strike first with a Braiden Dorfman power-play goal at the 12:28 mark of the opening period. The 1-to-0 score would stand in the first intermission. 

The Bulls would get a power-play chance early in the second and Jere Vaisanen would score his 15th goal of the year at the 5:10 mark of the second period to even the game at 1-to-1.

Later in the period, Braiden Dorfman would score his second goal of the game following a Bulls turnover in their own zone to give the Mudbugs a 2-to-1 lead going into the third period. 

Amarillo would get more scoring chances in the third period looking to tie the game. Late into the third period, Amarillo would get another chance on the power play when Connor Gatto took a minor penalty at the 13:25 mark of the period. However, it would be the Mudbugs who would score with a Matt Vermaeten short-handed goal to give Shreveport a two-goal lead with only five minutes remaining. 

A Dorfman empty-net goal would secure a hat trick and a 4-to-1 road victory for Shreveport to give the Bulls their third straight loss. The Bulls and Mudbugs will Paly again Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. from the Budweiser Bullpen.
