Bulls Drop 2nd exhibition game in Topeka

TOPEKA, KS — It was a rough second exhibition game for the Amarillo Bulls on Saturday night, as they fell to the Topeka Road Runners 5 – 0 Landon Arena in Topeka, Kansas.

It was the second straight exhibition loss for the Bulls as they dropped a 3-2 decision to Topeka on Friday night.

The difference in the game was the first 40 minutes of hockey where the Bulls struggled to get their offense going. The Bulls allowed two goals in the first period and another two in the second. The Road Runners rounded out the scoring with a marker in the final 20 minutes. The Bulls had 11 power plays during the contest, while Topeka had nine. Unlike last night where four of the five goals were scored on the power play, there were just two goals via the man advantage.

Up next for the Amarillo Bulls is the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota that will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 15. In their first game, the Bulls will meet another one of the new expansion teams the Michigan Warriors at 10:30 am. During the Showcase, the Bulls will also battle the Fresno Monsters, Port Huron Fighting Falcons and the St. Louis Bandits.

The Amarillo Bulls home opener is Friday, Sept. 24 at 7 pm when they host the Texas Tornado at The Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.
