Amarillo, Tx(Mar 26, 2021) The Amarillo Bulls win their 22nd game of the year defeating the Odessa Jackalopes by a score of 2-to-1.
The Bulls continued their home-stand Friday night against the Jackalopes. Both teams would get quality scoring chances in the first period but the Bulls would score first. With just over five minutes remaining in the opening frame, Bulls defenseman Sean Vlasich would score his third goal of the season to break the ice.
The one-goal advantage for Amarillo would hold deep into the second when Odessa defenseman Jimmy Rayhill tied the game with a power-play goal with five minutes remaining. The Bulls and Jackalopes would go into the third period tied at one.
Three minutes into the third period, Ty Black would get a lucky bounce in front of the net and bury the rebound for his ninth goal of the year. Black’s goal would give the Bulls a 2-to1 lead in the final period.
Odessa would get a few quality chances on Andrew Takacs in the final moments, but the Bulls goalie would stand tall and secure a 2-to-1 victory over Odessa. The Bulls improve their record to 22-10-3-4, with Takacs earning his 11th win on the year.The Bulls and Jackalopes will conclude their weekend series on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
