BULLS BEGIN TWO GAME SERIES IN
FRESNO, CA –It’s a weekend of firsts for the Amarillo Bulls as they begin a two-game series against the Fresno Monsters at Selland Arena tonight (Friday) at 9:35 central, 7:35 pacific.
It’s the Bulls first trip ever out of the South Division during the regular season (outside of the NAHL Showcase), and first visit to the West Coast. However, the game will serve as the second-ever meeting between the Bulls and the Monsters as they faced one another last year at the North American Hockey League Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota that Fresno won 4-3.
The Bulls have a five point lead in the South Division over the Texas Tornado which travel to New Mexico this weekend to face the Mustangs. The Monsters are alone in third in the West Division, just nine points back of second place.
It’s game three of a six game extended road trip for the Bulls that ends next week in New Mexico before returning home for a big game on Friday, Dec. 16.
Special teams will be one of the big match-ups this weekend as Amarillo and Fresno are among the top six both in power play and penalty kill.
There is no radio broadcast for the games, and fans will only be able to watch them live on Pay- Per-View courtesy of Fast Hockey. A high speed internet connection is required in order to view the games at start at 9:30 pm central. Amarillo Bulls hockey coverage on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.com resumes next weekend in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 16 when the Bulls host the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm. It’s the annual Teddy Bear Toss and fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the game to throw on the ice after the first Bulls goal that will be donated to Toys for Tots.
