AMARILLO, TX – Several members of the Amarillo Bulls Alumni had excellent weekends in NCAA action.
TJ Sarcona and Matt Johnson combined for five points as both Niagara University and Lake Superior State were victorious. Sarcona’s goal and two assists helped Niagara beat Army 5-0 and 8-3. Clint Carlisle scored his second goal for Army while Luke Jenkins and Joe Kozlak added assists. Matt Johnson had a big second period with a goal and an assist in Lake Superior’s 5-3 triumph over Michigan Tech.
In Division III play, forward Blake Roubos scored three times and added an assist as Lawrence University swept Northland 4-3 and 5-3. Roubos had one goal on the Friday victory, and the next game picked up two goals and set up another. The speedy forward has eight points for Lawrence University Vikings located in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Meantime, it was a terrific NCAA debut for Sam Johnson and Ryan Cole at Trinity College. Ryan Cole scored in both games as Trinity beat Connecticut College 5-2 and then Tufts 4-3. Sam Johnson notched his first NCAA goal in the win over Connecticut College.
Forward Ryan Taylor scored his first of the season as Western New England University blanked Curry 4-0. In another shutout win, Dan McDougall set up a goal for Neumann in their 3-0 triumph over Nazareth.
It’s back to home ice this weekend for the Amarillo Bulls as they host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Friday is Military Appreciation night and all Military (past and present) can get a free ticket to the game with a valid ID. There will be an enlistment ceremony, yellow rose ceremony and tribute to fallen heroes. The Family Four Pack is back with four hotdogs, four sodas and four tickets for just $39. The bring a buddy pack features two hotdogs, two cokes and two tickets for $20.
