Bulls Alumni Notebook-Edition 13

AMARILLO, TX – Amarillo Bulls Alumni made huge impacts for their respective teams over the weekend as the NCAA Division I action winds down.

Karl Beckman notched one goal and three assists to help the Holy Cross Crusaders post a win and a tie against American International and fellow Alumni Brandon Lubin. On Friday night, Beckman scored to fuel a big comeback as the Crusaders tied American 4-4. The Crusaders trailed 4-0 until the second period when Beckman scored to begin the comeback with four consecutive goals.

The next night Beckman posted two assists as Holy Cross defeated American 4-1. Lubin had an assist on the loan American goal that was scored in the third period.

Forward Joe Kozlak added two helpers as Army dropped a pair of games to UConn 4-3 and 6-3. Kozlak had assists in each of the games, while defenseman Luke Jenkins had an assist in the 6-3 setback on Saturday night.

Meantime Greg Gibson scored the game’s first goal on Friday as Robert Morris doubled Canisius College 4-2.

Conference tournaments are underway at the Division III level. Williams and forward Mike Erickson advanced to the next round in the NESCAC tournament beating Colby 2-1. Neumann advanced in the ECAC West Tournament nipping Hobart 2-0.Western New England University was eliminated by Salve Regina 8-4.

It’s a busy week of hockey for the Amarillo Bulls with four games in five nights. The action begins tomorrow (Tuesday) night when the Bulls begin the first of two against the Corpus Christi IceRays at American Bank Center at 7 pm. Fans can tune into the action live on CBS SportsRadio 1440 and www.amarillobulls.com beginning with pre-game coverage at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the call to follow. The two teams will play on Wednesday at a special start time of 10 am in front of more than 5,000 school children. Pre-game coverage begins on Wednesday at 9:45 am.

The Bulls close out their busy week with two games in Odessa against the Jackalopes on Friday and Saturday night at 7 pm at Ector County Coliseum. Both games will air across the Amarillo Bulls Hockey Network at 6:45 pm with pre-game coverage.
