AMARILLO, TX – Several members of the Amarillo Bulls Alumni played in the Army-Air Force games over the weekend.
Forwards Clint Carlisle, Joe Kozlak, Kyle Plageman as well as defenseman Luke Jenkins and Garrett Peterson suited up for Army. There were several highlights of the two games including a moment at the end of the first game when the Army and Air Force players circled center ice together for the salute. After the second game, the two schools had a big celebration dinner.
On the ice, Air Force took both games 4-1 and 4-2. In the second game, Joe Kozlak notched one goal and one assist, while and Clint Carlisle also scored for West Point.
In other Division I action from the weekend, Greg Gibson had a goal and an assist and John Rey also chipped in a helper as Robert Morris defeated UConn 6-1. Forward Tyler Deresky added his second assist of the season as Bentley dumped RIT 4-1.
Forward Cody Freeman assisted on the game winning goal as Canisius College edged Sacred Heart 5-4. TJ Sarcona netted his fourth goal of the season as Niagara blanked American International 5-0.
In Division III play, Ryan Cole had a five point weekend, while TJ Sherman had three points for Trinity College as the Bantams won games over Middlebury and Becker. In the 6-3 win over Middlebury, Ryan Cole and TJ Sherman each set up two goals. The next night against Becker, Cole added one goal and two assists while TJ Sherman added a helper, in a 5-3 win.
The Milwaukee School of Engineering fell to Augsburg 3-1. Gage Christianson notched an assist for Milwaukee. Derek Hills set up the first goal as St. Scholastica held off Hamline 3-2. Mike Erickson scored St. Olaf’s third goal as they tied Adrian 4-4. Ryan Taylor continues to play well for Western New England University. He scored the team’s lone goal in a 5-1 loss to Utica. Blake Roubos scored a goal and assisted on the other as Lawrence dropped a 7-2 decision to Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The current members of the Amarillo Bulls hit the road this weekend for a showdown against the Wichita Falls Wildcats. The next home game for the Amarillo Bulls is set for Sunday, Jan. 26 at 6 pm against the Odessa Jackalopes. It’s Faith, Family and Friends Night and church groups are invited out to the game.
