AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls added more scoring depth to their already potent line-up late Thursday when they acquired Blake Roubos in a three-team deal with the Wenatchee Wild and the Aberdeen Wings. As part of the deal, goaltender Chad Catt was traded to the Wings.
In 30 games with the Wild, Roubos had 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points. The Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada native also added three power play goals and four game winners.
Amarillo Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams said he first watched Roubos at the NAHL Showcase in September and liked what he saw.
“This is our trade deadline type of move for us,” Williams said. “It gives us more depth to our forwards especially when Clint Carlisle comes back. We get another point-a-game type of guy which in the South Division is important. He has been taught well by Bliss Littler and John Becanic so I know he understands how to play defense. He battles and competes hard, and has had some good mentors up there in Wenatchee.”
Roubos will make his debut tonight (Friday) when the Amarillo Bulls host the Topeka RoadRunners in the first of a two game series at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Tickets for all Bulls games are available at the Bulls office located at 301 South Polk Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets.
