Brendan Michaelian Named Alternate Captain

AMARILLO, TX – Becoming a member of any sports team’s leadership core is a special feeling and something players will remember for the rest of their lives.

Amarillo Bulls defenseman Brendan Michaelian joins a select group as he was named an Alternate Captain joining defenseman Marcus Chorney and forward Jon Russell.

“It means a lot to be a leader to the younger guys to be someone they look up to both on and off the ice,” said Michaelian. “I also get to represent my teammates, the coaches, and staff. It is a great honor.”

Michealian, a native of Wixom, Michigan, is second on the Bulls in scoring with one goal and 21 assists for 22 points in 26 games. The 5-11, 184 pound returner is not only among the top defenseman but is second in assists in the entire North American Hockey League.

“Working with Marcus Chorney and Jon Russell is great and are awesome leaders in their own way,” Michaelian said. “They each bring something different to the table in a leadership way and I am just lucky to be part of the group.”

The Amarillo Bulls return to the ice this Saturday and Sunday when they visit the Shreveport Mudbugs at George’s Pond Hirsch Coliseum.
