Behling Named NAHL’s 2nd Star

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls received some good news this week when Brooks Behling was selected as the NAHL’s Second Star of the Week.

The Bulls finished a tough and grueling four game road trip with a mark of 3-1-0 and extended their lead in the South Division to five points over second place Texas Tornado. Behling, the NAHL’s leading goal scorer with 17 goals this season, played in three of those games and did not disappoint.  On Thursday Behling recorded a shorthanded goal and added three assists for a four point night in Amarillo’s 8-2 win in Odessa.  A night later, the 20 year old native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, got even better as he recorded a power play goal, another shorthanded goal and the overtime-winning goal for a hat-trick as the Bulls beat the Texas Tornado, 4-3.  On Saturday, Behling started the game, but was later injured forcing him out of the game early along with Amarillo’s win on Sunday in Corpus Christi.  Behling piled up four goals, including two shorthanded, and three assists for seven points in his three games played during the week.

“Brooks is continuing to play well and playing with a sense of confidence,” said Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams.  “He is getting dirty goals and putting up numbers.  We are putting him into more situations to be successful, and he has worked hard to become a legitimate leader and goal-scorer.”

The Bulls return to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center tomorrow (Wednesday) night when they host the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm. The Bulls are riding a stretch of good play with a mark of 8-2 in their last 10 games. On home ice, Amarillo has won six in a row.

The game is sponsored by D’Vine Wine and there will be $1 hotdogs. Tickets are still available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Suite 101 in the Amarillo Building, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets.
