AMARILLO, TX – When Army visited Air Force over the weekend in Colorado Springs they certainly received plenty of support from the Texas Panhandle.
Several Amarillo Bulls’ fans and former Billet Families travelled up to Colorado for the game to cheer on Army and catch up with the players. The weekend didn’t go as well for Army as they dropped a 3-1 and 4-3 decisions. Brendan McGuire collected the lone Army goal on Saturday from Clint Carlisle.
Meantime, goaltender Paul Berrafato played in back-to-back games for the Holy Cross Crusaders over the weekend against Mercyhurst Lakers. The home-ice Lakers won both ends 2-1 and 5-4 in overtime. Defenseman Karl Beckman picked up an assist in the Saturday game.
Berrefato’s goaltending partner from Amarillo the past two seasons, Collin Delia was in action for Merrimack on Saturday as they beat Quinnipiac 3-1. Forward Hampus Gustafsson tallied in the third for the victors.
Robert Morris University posted 5-3 and 9-4 wins over American International. In the second game, Greg Gibson had a pair of goals, while Brady Ferguson and John Rey had assists.
At the Division III level, Ryan Cole picked up two goals and an assist as Trinity doubled Colby 6-3. TJ Sherman also had an assist in the game.
Forward Kyle Gattelaro scored twice as No. 4 ranked Wisconsin River-Falls beat Wisconsin Stevens-Point 4-2.
Blake Roubos scored the game winning goal to lift Lawrence past Milwaukee School Of Engineering 3-2. Omar Mullen tallied two assists in the loss.
Ryan Taylor earned an assist in Western New England’s 7-2 loss to Canton.
Mike Davis collected his third goal of the year but Neumann lost 4-1 to Geneseo.
The 2014-15 Amarillo Bulls return to the ice this weekend when they visit the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm.
