AMARILLO, TX – It was a big weekend for forwards Matt Sieckhaus, Greg Gibson as well as defenseman Karl Beckman in NCAA action over the weekend.
Bentley defeated Holy Cross 4-3 and again 5-2 as Matt Sieckhaus notched one goal and earned a couple of helpers. Karl Beckman had assists in both losses for the Crusaders.
Meantime, Greg Gibson fired the game winning goal in overtime as Robert Morris beat Canisius College 2-1 in overtime. The next night the two teams played to a 1-1 tie. Cody Freeman tallied for Canisus College, while Brady Ferguson assists on the Colonials lone goal.
Hampus Gustafsson earned an assist in Merrimack College’s 4-2 loss against Boston College. Brooks Behling picked up one goal and two assists as Providence posted two wins over UConn. He scored in the first win on Wednesday, and followed that up with an assist in the blowout win on Saturday.
At the Division III level, Dan McDougall had a pair of assists as Neumann dumped Elmira 7-4. The next day Elmira beat Neumann 6-5. Mike Davis had an assist on the fifth goal for Neumann.
Milwaukee School of Engineering nipped Lake Forest 2-1 thanks to an assist from Omar Mullen. Derek Hills also picked up a helper as St. Scholastica beat St. Norbert 3-1.
Trinity College continues to roll as they dumped Williams 3-1. Ryan Cole scored for Trinity in that contest.
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center tomorrow (Friday) night when the Amarillo Bulls host the Corpus Christi IceRays at 7 pm. It’s AT&T night with the first 500 fans receiving a Jason style Goalie Mask and Koozies. One lucky child could win a bike courtesy of Seven Bar and Grill. Children are encouraged to bring their bike helmet to the game and help out with the 2nd intermission.
When the two teams face one another again on Saturday it’s Super Hero Night in support of the March Of Dimes. There will be various Super Hero Characters for fans to get pictures with. The Bulls will wear special Super Hero jerseys with a live auction to follow immediately after the game in support of the March Of Dimes.
