Those are some of the words that best describe the Amarillo Bulls Team Captains over the past seven years and that might sum up Alex Truscott who has been chosen by the Coaching Staff to wear the letter ‘C’ for the 2017-18 season.
In one season, Truscott has quickly become a fan favorite with his tireless work ethic and never quit style on the ice. Bulls Head Coach Rocky Russo is excited about the decision they made.
“He has consistently showed leadership skills and willingness to sacrifice for the team,” said Russo. “His work ethic and commitment to excellence will be infectious in our locker room.”
Truscott, who missed the Bulls home opener on Saturday due to an upper body injury, will make his debut as Captain tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon when the team faces the Wilkes-Bare/Scranton Knights at 1:15 pm.
The Draper Utah native joins Derek Hills (2010-11), Joe Kozlak and Matt Johnson (2011-12), John Rey (2012-13), Mike Davis (2013-14), Ben Jentsch (2014-15), Joey DiBenedetto (2015-16) and Matt Nehls (2016-17) as players who have worn the letter ‘C’ with the Bulls during the team’s previous seven seasons.
The 2017 North American Hockey League Showcase faces of on Wednesday when the Amarillo Bulls take to the ice to battle the Wilkes-Bare Scranton Knights for the first time. The puck drop is set for 1:15 pm and fans can tune into the action beginning with pre-game coverage at 12:50 pm on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV with Hockey TV.
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 when the Amarillo Bulls host the defending Robertson Cup Champion Lone Star Brahmas at 7 pm.
