BULLS NEXT GAME AT HOME: The Amarillo Bulls return home on Friday, Mar. 9 and Saturday, Mar. 10 to face the Corpus Christi IceRays at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Friday is family night with Family Four Pack for $44 (four tickets, four hotdogs and four sodas) and the Bring-A-Bud Pack for $22 (two tickets, two hotdogs and two sodas.) Saturday is Amarillo Youth Hockey Retro Night with the Bulls wearing special retro jerseys. A live auction follows immediately after the game with proceeds to benefit Amarillo Youth Hockey.

THE SERIES: It’s the seventh and eighth meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Topeka RoadRunners. The Bulls have won just two of the games, but have taken single points in three other games following two shootout and one overtime losses. Five of the six previous games have been decided by just one goal.

WHAT’S AT STAKE: The Amarillo Bulls head into action this weekend 10 points back of the Corpus Christi IceRays for the fourth and final playoff spot in the South Division. The Bulls have one game in hand remaining that they will use next Sunday when they face Odessa at Ector County Coliseum.

ACROSS THE SOUTH: It’s a busy weekend in the South Division with all six teams seeing action. The Odessa Jackalopes visit the Corpus Christi IceRays at American Bank Center. The State of Louisiana will be the site of a showdown featuring the top two teams overall in the NAHL as the Shreveport Mudbugs host the Fairbanks IceDogs. At NYTEX Sports Center in North Richland Hills, TX the Lone Star Brahmas entertain the Kenai River Brown Bears.

STATS, ETC: The Topeka RoadRunners have the fewest number of first goals scored this season at 11, but have made the most of them posting seven victories. The Bulls are undefeated in four-goal games this season 3-0-0-0, while Topeka has been unable to post a win when a game has been decided by two goals. Bulls defensemen Brendan Michaelian and Marcus Chorney have combined for 27 power play assists this season. Goaltender Jason Grande has already appeared in 37 games this season and is nine shy of equaling Nikifor Szczerba (2010-11) and Anton Martinsson (2015-16) of 46. Paul Berrafato (2012-13), and Nikita Babintsev (2016-17) are next on the list at 44 and 43 games played, respectively.
