Weekend Preview- Bulls Visit Brahmas

BULLS NEXT AT HOME: Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20 when the Amarillo Bulls host the Lone Star Brahmas at 7 pm. Saturday is Toys For Tots Night and fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the game. When the Bulls score their first goal, fans can throw the toys onto the ice in support of the great cause.

THE SERIES: This is the third and fourth meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Lone Star Brahmas. The two teams will see one another a lot over the next stretch meeting five times in a stretch of 29 days including three in a row. The first two games of the series were split with the Bulls taking the first one 2-1 but then falling in the second 7-2.

BULLS GET ROLLING: The Amarillo Bulls have posted a mark of 4-6 in their last 10 games. Forwards Cody Gylling and Will Harrison have combined for 10 goals. The Bulls have scored eight power play goals in their last 10, and are unbeaten when leading after 40 minutes. Amarillo still hasn’t surrendered a shorthanded goal or scored one away from home.  

RED HOT BRAHMAS: It’s been quite a stretch lately for Dan Wildfong’s Lone Star Brahmas who come in with a mark of 10-1-1 in their last 12 games including seven wins in row and 10 of 11. In the last four games, Lone Star has surrendered five goals and have two signature program wins against the first place Topeka RoadRunners. Three players have combined for 18 goals in the club’s last 10 games with Sebastian Vidmar having 9, Eric Carreras with 5 and Ludvig Larsson having four. Goaltender Jake Kapusky is 5-0-0 with a 1.77 GAA.
