UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The Amarillo Bulls play two more home games next weekend facing the Corpus Christi Ice Rays. It’s Boy Scout and Girl Scout weekend with discounted tickets available for troops and packs. Sunday is Faith and Family Night so Church Groups are invited to come out to the game.
THE SERIES: It’s the first match-ups of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Lone Star Brahmas. The two teams will see a lot of one another over the next several months with 10 games scheduled between the Texas Panhandle and North Richland Hills TX.
SHOWCASE REWIND: The Amarillo Bulls finished the North American Hockey League Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota with a mark of 2-1-1 at the Schwann Super Rink. The Bulls dropped a 3-2 decision to the Wilkes-Bare Scranton Knights but then followed that up with back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Wilderness 6-2 and the Bismarck Bobcats 3-2. On the final day of the event, the Bulls fell 3-2 in overtime to the Northeast Generals. The Lone Star Brahmas posted a mark of 1-2-1 with the lone win coming versus the Minnesota Magicians 3-2. The Brahmas dropped 1-0 decision in a shootout to the New Jerseys Titans, a 3-1 setback at the hands of the Brookings Blizzard and a 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Rebels.
BULLS NOTES: The Amarillo Bulls welcome back a familiar face to the line-up as Steven Ipri has returned from his USHL tryout with the Sioux Falls Storm. Ipri finished second in Bulls scoring last year with 18 goals and 22 assists for 40 points in 59 games. He had five power play goals and 127 shots. Ipri joins goaltender Brandon Bussi as those players from a year ago that have joined the team. Bussi made his debut last Thursday in a 6-2 win over the Minnesota Wildnerness.
