Playoff Rewind – Bulls Lead Series 2-0

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls are one victory away from advancing to their fourth straight South Division Final.

The Bulls posted 4-2 and 7-4 victories over the Wichita Falls Wildcats on home ice over the weekend to take a 2-0 lead in the Best-Of-Five South Division Semi-Final Series. It’s the first time in three years that the Bulls have won the first two games of an opening round. The two victories over the weekend pushed the Bulls playoff streak on home ice to five.

The scene shifts to Wichita Falls on Friday for Game 3 at Kay Yeager Coliseum at 7 pm. If a fourth a deciding game is needed, it would be played the following night in Wichita Falls. A fifth and deciding game would be back in Amarillo on Monday, Apr. 14 at 7 pm.

BULLS NEXT @ HOME: It’s not known when the next Amarillo Bulls home game would be. Should the Bulls close out the series this weekend, then they would host the first two games of the South Division Final on Easter Weekend.

WEEKEND REWIND:

GAME 1 – AMARILLO BULLS 4 – WICHITA FALLS WILDCATS 2: The Amarillo Bulls pulled away from a close game by scoring twice early in the third period. Collin Delia posted his first playoff victory. Mike Davis notched the Bulls first two goals in the opening 40 minutes, while Tyler Gernhofer and Brenda Vetter added singles.

 

GAME 2 – AMARILLO BULLS 7 – WICHITA FALLS WILDCATS 4: Kyle Gattelaro snapped a 3-3 with a goal in the final two minutes of the second period and then his teammates followed with three more in the third to put the game away. Brady Ferguson scored twice for the Bulls, while Tyler Gernhofer, Roman Ammirato, Cody Gylling and Eric Purcell all picked up singles. Paul Berrafato won his 10th NAHL playoff game and that includes the Robertson Cup National Tournament.
