AMARILLO, TX – It’s been a busy week for Amarillo Bulls Captain Mike Davis.
Not only did he help the Amarillo Bulls collect four points against the Lone Star Brahmas this past weekend but he also is a member of the South Division All-Stars at the NAHL Top Prospects in Troy, Michigan. The Newark, Delaware native also added to his success by being named South Division Player Of the Week for the second time in just over a month.
The reigning NAHL Forward of the Month Mike Davis, 20, had a great weekend to help the Amarillo Bulls stay on top in the South Division with a weekend home sweep of the Lone Star Brahmas. Davis (5’9/185) tallied two goals and two assists and was a +4 in the two wins.
On Friday night, the native of Newark, Delaware had two assists in a 9-2 win. On Saturday, Davis scored twice, including the game-winning goal in a 4-0 shutout win. For the season, Davis not only leads the Bulls in scoring, but the entire NAHL as well as he has 53 points in 48 games played.
“Mike is the ultimate competitor and warrior. He does the little things to make him and his team successful and it will make him a great NCAA Division I hockey player someday,” said Bulls head coach Dennis Williams.
The Amarillo Bulls are back on the road this weekend with a pair of games against the Corpus Christi IceRays at American Bank Center. Fans can listen to the game live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show on Saturday at 6:45 pm and Sunday at 2:45 pm. The puck drop is 7 pm and 3 pm, respectively.
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Mar. 7 and Saturday, Mar. 8 when the Amarillo Bulls host the Topeka RoadRunners at 7 pm.
