Kyle Gattelaro Commits to Wisconsin-River Falls

AMARILLO, TX – Preparation…

It’s something the Amarillo Bulls have been noted for in getting its players ready for the NCAA. That preparation is something that forward Kyle Gattelaro is thankful for as he prepares for his future. Gattelaro, a native of Del Ray Beach Florida announced his NCAA Commitment today to Wisconsin-River Falls (WIAC). He becomes the 13th player from the 2013-14 team to make NCAA plans.

Gattelaro said that playing for the Bulls will make the transition to the school much smoother.

“Coach Dennis Williams made us feel like we were already playing college hockey,” Gattelaro said. “The difference I thought was the maturity I got in Amarillo and from Coach Williams. We had team building, workouts and training that most teams don’t do. All of those little things will help me.”

In 56 games with the Bulls, Gattelaro notched 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points. He had five power play goals and 47 penalty minutes. In his junior career, the 6-0, 185-pound forward played in 175 games and tallied 53 goals and 83 assists for 136 points and 106 penalty minutes. Gattelaro was named to the South Division roster for the NAHL Top Prospects this past season and named South Division Player Of the Week.

Gattelaro said that Wisconsin-River Falls is a good fit for him and his family.

“Wisconsin River Falls is one of the best programs out there so I think it is an excellent fit,” he said. “Nine of my former teammates from Kalamazoo are there so I think there will be some great chemistry. At the end of the day, it is all about completing the dream so I am excited to be playing college hockey.”

One of the big reasons for the Bulls success is the track record of moving players on to the next level. It’s what brought Gattelaro to the Texas Panhandle.

“It was great coming to Amarillo to know that there were over 30 NCAA Commitments at the time,”  “I knew Coach Williams was going to give me a shot to move on and get seen by the schools. I know the new coaches (John Rogger and Mike Watt) will do the same thing because the Bulls have something special going on.”

Kyle Gattelaro is the 13th member of the 2013-14 member of the Amarillo Bulls to announce their NCAA College Commitment joining Matt Sieckhaus (Bentley), Roman Ammirato (Union College), Timmy Moore (Robert Morris), Brady Ferguson (Robert Morris), Joe Grabowski (Princeton), Stuart Pomeroy (Princeton), Paul Berrafato (Holy Cross), Tyler Gernhofer (Vermont), Brendan McGuire (Army), Collin Delia (Merrimack College), Mike Davis (Neumann College) and Brett Szajner (Utica College).
