TOPEKA, KS – Amarillo Bulls defenseman Karl Beckman collected a couple of awards at the North American Hockey League’s Banquet Of Champions on Monday night in Topeka.
The banquet was part of a busy day at the Robertson Cup NAHL Tournament. All four teams took the ice for workouts at Kansas Expo Center-Landon Arena, and then got changed into their dress clothes for the ceremony later in the evening.
Beckman was chosen as a member of the NAHL’s All-Rookie Team, and was also selected as a co-winner of the Dick Sporting Goods Community Service Award.
On the ice, Beckman had three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 51 games. He was plus 27 on the ice and had seven power play helpers.
Off the ice, Beckman amassed over 90 hours of community service work for the Bulls. He helped out with the Hockey For Health Program, donated his time to the Amarillo’s Children’s Hospital and tutored students at Tascosa High School.
The Robertson Cup faces off for the Amarillo Bulls tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon when they meet the Michigan Warriors at 4:05 pm.
