Hills Named To Robertson Cup All Tournament Team

 

TOPEKA, KS – Amarillo Bulls Captain and defenseman Derek Hills received some good news on Saturday night after being named to the Robertson Cup All-Tournament Team.

Hills, a Campbell River British Columbia native, is joined on the team by two members each from the Michigan Warriors and Fairbanks Ice Dogs and one from the host Topeka RoadRunners.

Hills led all defenseman in the North American Hockey Playoffs, including the Robertson Cup with 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points. The Bulls finished third at the Robertson Cup North American Hockey League National Championship Tournament in Topeka, Kansas. After posting a 2-1 record in round robin action, Amarillo fell 6-2 to the Michigan Warriors in the National Final.

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs won the National Title beating the Warriors 4-2 in the final. It was the third straight game where the Ice Dogs had to rally from another deficit in order to win the championship.
