AMARILLO, TX – For the third time this season a member of the Amarillo Bulls has been chosen as the top star in the South Division.
Cody Gylling was named South Division player of the week. The Easton Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2014-15 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.
The Amarillo Bulls were able to move into a tie for the 6th and final playoff spot in the South with a weekend home sweep of the Odessa Jackalopes. Veteran forward Cody Gylling, 20, had a huge weekend as the native of Chandler, Arizona racked up six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in the pair of wins.
The Arizona State commit had two assists in Friday’s 4-1 win and on Saturday, Gylling (5’9/175) recorded a hat-trick and added an assist in a 5-3 win, which also included the game-winning goal. For the season, Gylling leads the Bulls in scoring with 33 points in 37 games played.
“Cody is a leader on and off the ice and this past weekend he put himself in the right spots on the ice to score goals and make things happen. He deserved every goal he got and also showed great play-making ability,” said Amarillo head coach Jon Rogger.
