AMARILLO, TX – Versatility is something all young hockey players need in their game to be a major contributor to their team.
The Amarillo Bulls have added versatility to its future with the tendering of forward/defenseman Brycon Johnson (pronounced Bryson) for the 2014-15 season. He is the third tender announced by the club joining defenseman Matt Nehls and forward Patrick Choi.
Johnson, a native of St. Peters, Missouri has some North American Hockey League experience, playing in 32 games during the 2013-14 season. The 5-11, 185 pound forward had two goals and two assists for five points.
Johnson put up some excellent numbers playing for the St. Louis Jr. Blues in the NA3HL where he netted 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 assists in 40 games. He was also very effective in the post season with one goal and four assists for five points in three games. This season Johnson has suited up for the Granite City Lumberjacks in the NA3HL and has five points in two games.
“Brycon is a big kid who is very universal that can play both positions,” said Bulls Director of Scouting Erik Blasé. “He is a very good puck moving forward, but also is a strong defenseman. He’ll be a nice addition to our program and we are happy to have him.”
