Bulls Tender Forward Cooper Fensterstock

AMARILLO, TX – Even though the Amarillo Bulls are just a third of the way through their North American Hockey League regular season schedule, the coaching staff is already looking towards their future.

The Bulls announced today (Tuesday) their first Tender for the 2018-19 season with the addition of forward Cooper Fensterstock. The 17 year-old forward who hails from Matthews, North Carolina has 17 points in 12 games for the North Jersey Avalanche in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.

“I spoke with a couple of North American Hockey League teams and was offered tenders, but after talking to the Amarillo Bulls staff I felt real comfortable moving forward with them,” Fensterstock said. “I know Amarillo has a long track record of moving guys on, and developmentally the Bulls have the rink available all day. I thought it was a great situation to be in.”

Bulls Head Coach Rocky Russo said they are very excited to have Cooper join the team next year.

“Cooper is a very intelligent player who skates well,” Russo said. “He competes, scores goals and plays all 200 feet of the ice. We spent a lot of time talking to his father and getting to know Cooper.”

Russo said Cooper will be part of their affiliate list this season and hopes to have him come to Amarillo to play later this season.”

Fensterstock has had a diverse youth hockey development, spending time with the TPH Thunder Program in Nashville as well as Culver Military Academy in Indiana. The 5-11, 176 pound forward said playing for the various programs has been beneficial to him.

“I’ve been fortunate to learn from so many different coaches,” he said. “I’m looking forward to see how Coach Russo furthers my development.”
