Bulls Resume Series With Tornado Tuesday

SERIES REWIND: The Amarillo Bulls captured the first two games of the South Division Final last week on home ice at The Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Last Thursday, the Bulls fired late goals in the first and second period and went on to beat the Tornado 4-1. Hampus Gustafsson, TJ Sherman, Brady Ferguson and Ryan Cole tallied for the Bulls in the victory.

          On Friday, four second period goals lifted Amarillo past Texas 5-1 for a 2-0 series lead. Brady Ferguson notched two goals, while Tyler Deresky, Ryan Cole and Mike Davis had singles. Goaltender Paul Berrafato has been splendid in both games stopping 51 of 53 shot he has faced in two games.

 

PLAYOFF NOTES: Brady Ferguson leads all NAHL point getters in the post season with five goals and four assists for nine points. Captain John Rey is second among NAHL defenseman with three goals and two assists for five points.

          There have been a total of five shorthanded goals scored in the playoffs with the Bulls having scored just one and that was Brady Ferguson back in game two of this series.

The Amarillo Bulls have scored the first goal in all six of their playoff games. The Bulls are first in shots four and rank fourth in shots against.

 

PLAYOFF PRIMER: Two of the other Divisional Finals are tied 1-1 after weekend play. The Bismarck Bobcats and the Austin Bruins are even in the Central Division Final. The Bruins captured game one, while the Bobcats got the split with a victory in game two. In the West, the Fairbanks IceDogs pulled even with a win in the second game, after the Wenatchee Wild took game one. The North Division Final has the road team the Jamestown Ironmen within one game of a trip to the Robertson Cup after beating the Soo Eagles 6-3 and then 1-0.
