Bulls Release Inaugural Schedule

AMARILLO, TX –Familiar foes and new opponents are among the highlights of the inaugural North American Hockey League schedule for the Amarillo Bulls. The club released its 2010-2011 schedule today.

The Bulls will play nine different opponents including two that will be very familiar to hockey fans with Corpus Christi and New Mexico. Amarillo will host those two teams for 12 games combined.

Amarillo’s regular season opener is set for Friday, Sept.  24 versus the Texas Tornado at the Bull Pen, the Amarillo Civic Center. Game time will be announced at a later date. 

            “We are pleased that in conjunction with lower ticket prices this year, we will play 21 of 27 home games on Friday and Saturdays against the teams in our division. The Amarillo market will see 2 teams from cities they will be familiar with as New Mexico and Corpus Christi visit the Civic Center 6 times each. We are excited about the schedule and it will develop great rivals between teams in the division”, stated Gary Gelinas, Executive Vice President for Consolidated Sports, the team owner.

            The Amarillo Bulls schedule faces off with a trip to Blaine, Minnesota for the NAHL Showcase from September 15 to 18. The Bulls will take on four different teams, including three new expansion franchises Michigan Warriors, Port Huron Fighting Falcons, Fresno Monsters as well as the St. Louis Bandits.

            Other highlights of the schedule include visits to the Santa Ana Star Center in New Mexico, American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. There are also road trips to Wichita Falls to face the Wildcats; Frisco, the home of the Texas Tornado; and Topeka, Kansas to take on the Roadrunners. The Bulls will be on the road for New Years Eve facing Topeka in back-to-back games on December 31 and January 1.
