Bulls Look To Even Series Tonight In Topeka

TOPEKA, KS – The Amarillo Bulls look to even up their Best-Of-Five South Division final when their series resumes against the Topeka RoadRunners tonight (Saturday) at 7 pm at the Kansas Expo Center-Landon Arena.

The RoadRunners needed a late goal in Overtime to beat the Amarillo Bulls to take the first game. It was Topeka’s first win in the extra session in the post season, while the Bulls dropped their record in overtime to 1-1.

Brandon Lubin with a power play goal and Matt Johnson, even strength, netted goals for the Bulls. Amarillo actually trailed 2-1 in the final two minutes of regulation time when Johnson scored to tie and send it to overtime.

It wasn’t a very physical first game between the two teams. There were a total of five power plays as teams stuck to the business of playing hockey. That trend should continue tonight.

The goaltenders were strong with Nikifor Szczerba for Amarillo and Rasmus Tirronen of Topeka making big saves at both ends. It’s expected that Eric Rohrkemper to get the start for the RoadRunners in the second game.

Fans are reminded that there is a second watch party that will take place at Cattle Call located at I40 and Western beginning at 6:30 pm. Come out and watch the game with other Bulls’ fans.

Broadcast coverage of the second game of the series begins with Prelude To The Playoffs Presented By Wayland Baptist University at 6:45 pm. The puck drop and the exciting, hard-hitting action with Denis J. Puska follows at 7 pm. The game is also available on Pay Per View courtesy of Fast Hockey, and a high speed internet connection is required to view the game.

The third game of the Best-Of-Five series will be back at The Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center next Thursday, April 21stat 7 pm. Should a fourth game be needed it will take place on Friday, April 22 also at 7 pm.
