Bulls Host New Mexico Tonight

AMARILLO, TX – The offensive attack for the Amarillo Bulls looks to get fired up tonight (Friday) when they host the New Mexico Mustangs, at 7 pm in The Bull Pen at the Amarillo Civic Center. It’s the first of a two game series between the two rivals.

The offense was limited last weekend notching nine goals in three games, but fired a total of 115 shots on net. One of those contests was a 4-1 decision over the Corpus Christi IceRays that gave the Bulls their 25thwin this season. The Bulls are currently alone in third place in the North American Hockey League’s South Division standings, trailing the Texas Tornado by two, for second place, and the Topeka RoadRunners by eight, for first. Amarillo still holds several games in hand.

Children who come to tonight’s game will receive a free Bulls Tattoo. Saturday’s game is sponsored by Suddenlink Communications and the first 500 fans will receive thundersticks. Fans are encouraged to register that night for a chance to win one of several blu-ray DVD players that will be given out throughout the night.

SHOOTING THE PUCK:In the last five games the Amarillo Bulls have taken 203 shots on goal, which averages out to nearly 41 shots per game. In two games the Bulls fired 47 and 46 shots, respectively.

 

GETTING THEIR REWARDS:For the second consecutive week, a member of the Amarillo Bulls was selected as the NAHL South Division Player Of The Week. This week, defenseman and team captain, Derek Hills was selected for his one goal and three assist performance. New Bulls’ forward, Sean Keane, took home the award the week prior with four assists.
